Honoring the Passing of a Patriot: Rest in Peace, Jane Jamison

It’s with great regret the we have to inform our readers of the passing of our good friend and fellow patriot, Jane Jamison.  Jane was the founder and lead writer for Uncoverage.net, one of the only outlets from conservative news on the entire west coast.

While details of Jane’s passing are being kept private, Stacy McCain reports:

Dell Hill from Uncoverage.net called today to tell me that the blog’s founder, Jane Jamison, died Saturday. Dell told me — I hadn’t previously known — that her name wasn’t actually Jane Jamison, but that this was a pseudonym she used to keep her life as a political commentator separate from the liberal world in which she might actually need to apply for a job.

She lived in the San Francisco Bay area, and was regular a radio guest onJaz McKay’s popular afternoon program on KNZR 1560 AM in Bakersfield. She once got me onto Jaz’s show as a guest, which was pretty cool. Jane was also a contributor at Right Wing News, where John Hawkins has a brief remembrance.

We had the privilege of getting to know Jane during the excitement of the Scott Brown special election here in Massachusetts; Jane tapped us for a local perspective (back when Scott Brown was someone worth getting excited about).   Since then, we’d stayed close compatriots, sharing contacts and stories.

Jane eventually ended up adopting us as her “Blog-Children”, becoming our very own “Fairy BlogMother”.  While many among us know her site, few can say they had the pleasure of meeting her in person.  We had pleasure of meeting Jane on several occasions, including the first CPAC we attended, where Jane snuck our nonconformist (and uncredentialed) asses into the blogger’s lounge to meet friends we had only known online.

The picture below is from CPAC 2010, the first time we met Jane and is one of only a few pictures we know to exist of her.  We’re posting this picture not to betray the trust of a friend that valued anonymity and her privacy above all else, but to remind everyone that behind the websites we read and the avatars we use on social media sites there are real people.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Jane, her family and her friends.

  1. I've only known of Jane the past year. In that year, I have come to value the tireless work of a Patriot whose ethics and fast paced posts gave gave a real view of daily life and political challenges to our freedoms.

What a delight to find her articulate demeanor as refreshing to hear on the Jaz McKay radio program as it is to read. A quality only possessed by few among us. My prayers go out to her family and friends.

God bless you, Angel and Shane, for helping Jane carry the Standard!

  4. That beautiful lady loved you both and often spoke so very positively about her "blog children" – Fleming and Hayes. She firmly believed that our nation's future depended on having young folks like Fleming and Hayes at the tip of the spear. I know you'll continue to do her proud.

    1. Likewise Dell, thank you so much for the kind words.

  7. hello. i just recently heard about "jane's" passing and wanted to share some things about her. "jane's" birth name was Joni Pugh. she grew up in Hoffman Estates, IL. i worked with her in Omaha in 1978-79 at a radio station. from there she moved to a local TV station, then out to the bay area. while in Omaha she went by the name Joni Hoffman. her last legal name was Joni Wolf. while attempting to get to the bottom of how she died and when (it is rumored to be a suicide), i found a disturbing court document from July of this year, Contra Costa County, that revealed Joni to be a freeloader content to living off her ex-husband for years after their divorce while refusing to find work. near the end of her step-down spousal support payments, she found work as a paralegal (she was NOT a lawyer, just a lawyer's assistant). this type of behavior and charade was not the Joni i worked with 30 some years ago. we reconnected online about a year ago, right before she got fired from the law firm last year. i lost track of her until hearing of her passing. apparently she lost motivation to be self-sufficient and financially independent and kept going back to court for more spousal support. she may have had followers and admirers in the blog world but it appeared she lead a double life and was a very unhappy person. i don't know where or when things went wrong for her but read the court doc for yourself and learn more about the life she hid from most of us: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/opinions/nonpub/A128509.DOC

  13. I do believe all of the ideas you have presented in your post. They’re very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for beginners. May just you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.

  14. I was a longtime friend of Jane's. Shortly after she passed was my first learning of her involvement with the conservative movement and her blog. But it is no surprise to me that Jane (Joni), would immerse herself so completely in something for which she had such passion. That was the flavor of her life.__Yes, the court record above seems to mention her in a less than favorable way but because I did know more about the circumstances of her divorce than most, I can say that I admired her efforts to defend her personal integrity in every way she could. __Her ex was and remains the epitome of human trash. He cheated on her, stole money from her, lied to her about their personal finances and did everything he could to destroy her as a human being. I suspect he is probably even responsible for revealing the court documents in the posting. It would be like Marty to do that. He is a sick humanbeing. Calling him human is even going too far. __

  15. Joni was a professional. She excelled at everything she did. She gave birth to two beautiful daughters whom she loved with her heart and soul. She refused to leave California in the years shortly after her divorce even though it would have been best for her long term health. It was the girls and not his money that motivated her to do so.__She was a smart, beautiful, articulate, thoughtful, caring, polished, and dedicated woman. I am not a conservative and we differed in our political views. We had lots of very spirited debates and shared many good times together. The world is a lesser place without you Joni (Jane). May God bless you and watchover you. May you have peace. I, as well as those who we're lucky to know you will miss you until our spirits meet again
